Robin Cape has always been a creative thinker and visionary entrepreneur. Known for her abundance of ideas, she brings that same energy to helping clients see the hidden potential in the homes they explore together. Her background in architectural salvage gave her a hands-on education in the “bones” of buildings, and she still carries a sharp eye for structure and design. Over the years, she’s personally undertaken deep renovations and green rehabs of multiple homes and buildings for her own family, giving her firsthand knowledge of the challenges and rewards of sustainable transformation.
Driven by a deep belief that every home can be greener, Robin combines practical experience with a lifelong commitment to sustainability. Her work in local government helped advance environmentally sound policies, and her time spent learning from regional climate scientists deepened her understanding of how the built environment impacts both communities and the planet. She earned a Master’s degree with a concentration in Climate and Society to further explore how we adapt to a changing, and sometimes challenging, world.
As climate change begins to reshape our region, Robin helps her clients not only find homes—but make smart, forward-thinking decisions that account for future environmental impacts. From floodplain awareness and energy resilience to siting and design strategies that reduce vulnerability, she supports buyers and sellers in planning for a more resilient future.
Robin also understands the shifting needs of multigenerational households. Whether it's making room for aging parents, building an accessory dwelling unit, or planning for flexible spaces that evolve over time, she helps clients navigate the personal and emotional considerations that influence home choices in today’s changing, and sometimes challenging, world.
Her leadership includes serving on the board of the Green Built Alliance, co-founding The Collider—an innovation and education center focused on climate solutions—and founding Reading Riding and Retrofit, which evolved into the NC Green Schools Program.
In real estate, Robin focuses on projects that blend environmental consciousness with long-term value. Whether it's energy-efficient upgrades, small urban farmsteads, or climate-resilient renovation strategies, she helps her clients align their housing goals with their values.
With over 30 years of community engagement and deep roots in Asheville, Robin offers clients not just a real estate transaction, but a trusted partnership. Her expertise in sustainable living, regional climate planning, and the realities of generational transitions makes her the ideal guide for those seeking a home—and a future—that reflects care for the Earth and the people we love.
